"You don't know anything. Your BLIND!" He snarled at the old wolf in front of him. He was no longer frozen, and he wanted to attack the wolf out of rage. Instead, he ran right past her, right into Shinra.
Furui didn't know what had happened. He had ran...ran right into Shinra. He didn't mean to. Now where was he? He felt like he had...fallen backwards, or forwards, or just got thrown to the side, somehow. Wouldn't Shinra have fallen over, too? He tried to open his eyes, but he couldn't. What just happened?

Shinra had heard Blindsight ask her to hunt, but didn't neccssarily listen. She was too excited to leave the new wolf, and hunting could take hours. She could probably cook something up with her lightning powers, but Kei would probably get shocked on the first bite. She didn't want a weak one getting even more hurt.
The way Blindsight took care of Kei astounded her. Maybe she had been a mother at one point, and she had been separated from them by some calamity. Poor Blindsight, she thought, actually thinking her guess was true, but then reminded herself she didn't really know who Blindsight was anyway. The thought briefly crossed her mind that Blindsight could be evil, but one look at the old one mothering Kei told her that this could be impossible. Or she was really good at hiding it.
There was a sudden outburst from Kei (which she had gathered might not be his real name), and the young one rammed right into her. This was unexpected, and it took her breath away as she fell over, flailing her limbs in a semi-panic. Shinra splashed into the water scrambling to get on her feet and gasping for lost air, but her head was under shallow water and her lungs filled with liquid. Panic arose, and Shinra flailed even more. A few more moments and she found her feet on the ground, choking up water from her maw and nostrils. She couldn't see Kei, wherever he was, as she was wrapped up in her own survival. Lack of oxygen made everything fuzzy, and she had no time to think. Only one thing was running through her basic mind; breathe.

Blindsight snapped out of her past when she heard a sudden splash strike the water. She rushed over to Shinra and pulled her flailing body out of the water. She nudged her chest briskly to hopefully get her breathing back up to pace. She was relieved to see Shinra’s chest rising and falling like normal along with the water in her lungs being coughed up. She looked around to find Furui knocked down in the muddy bank. She went over to him and gave a gentle bark before lying down next to him and nuzzling his face. ”you’ll be alright young one. No one is here to hurt you. Now wake up dear, I can’t stay from Shinra long.” she seemed to coo her words to him. She stood up on her legs once more and walked away once she was sure he didn’t receive any damage. She padded back to Shinra quickly and curled her long tail over most of the wet wolf’s coat. She appeared to be cleaning Shinra’s face as she lay next to her, trying to warm the soaked fae.

A few gulps of air brought her out of her dream-like state. She looked around and saw Blindsight near, cleaning her up and keeping her warm. It wasn't cold out, but a spring night in this place could get chilly. As if she wouldn't dry in time. Blindsight had pulled her out. Good ol' Blindsight. She hadn't realized this fact until now, and was glad she had made friends with such a wonderful wolf. What other wonders could this fae do?
Shinra decided that her fur was a little too wet for comfort. Standing and stepping away from Blindsight, she shook out her hide. She wondered if the static was neutralized or magnified now that she was wet. Something in the water caught her peripheral vision. She turned to see many fish floating down the river. For a second, she wondered if the river was now poisoned, but then remembered that as she went down into the water an electric shock emitted from her body. Usually her emotions didn't control her powers. She didn't pause to consider that thought, as the sight of electrocuted fish made heat rise in her face. Then another thought struck her--those fish might make good food...
"I'm going fishing!" she announced, then splashed into the water, snapping at the floating fish going by. Though the stream was slow and easy, the fish seemed to slip from her teeth. Frustrated, Shinra aimed for the area in front of the floating ichthyoid and managed to catch the head. Satisfied, she bounded back to the shore, contrmplating the taste as she put it down. She had never eaten fish before, and it sort of tasted like an animal that had lived in water all its life. She decided it was alright to eat because bears ate them all the time. Bears ate stuff like deer and berries, so fish couldn't be any different, right?
Shinra continued to fish. It was a very frustrating if not satisfying pasttime. She wondered how bears could put up with them alive, flailing around like they did. These fish were already dead, and Shinra considered doing this in the future, perfecting her powers to attack certain fish at a time. It was an intriguing thought.

Blindsight held a look of amusement and concern at Shinra’s behavior. She let out a thick laugh that made her seem younger then her true age. She padded to where Shinra was fishing and noticed the smell of fresh fish in the stream. She could smell they were just killed, but no poison was laced in the smell. She appeared to grin at the thought of knowing her friend was using her gift. She listened calmly to Shinra fight to catch the fish when she remembered their little pup was still lying down. She briskly walked over to the wolf and laid down next to him. She didn’t place her body too close to him, but curled her tail to cover him. ”I don’t wish to see another grow to be as Darkpatch. I must help this young one to his respectful path without confusion, even if it means betraying the forest laws.” she thought with deep concern. She didn’t want pain to take this child’s soul just as it did her and her brothers. She began cleaning him to warm him and hopefully stir him to move.

By the time Shinra was done, she had five good-sized fish deposited on the shore. It wasn't real meal, but it was a snack they could enjoy. She turned towards Blindsight and grinned. "Hey, if you want something to eat, I've got something here for you guys!" she said, then picked up a fish in her jaws and carried it off a few feet, digging into its scaly flesh.
Fish tasted strange. They had an essence of spring water and insect and earthy components in them, all of which she could smell as they lay drying on the mud. There was something else in there that separated fish from all other meats, but she didn't mind it. The great problem now was the scales. She didn't know whether to eat them up or spit them out, but since they were bland in flavor and disturbed her tongue, she spat it out.

Furui managed to get up, and he looked at Blindsight. It made him...sad. Not sad...but...He didn't know the emotion. Greif. Desperation. Blindsight was acting like a mother to him, right now.
But he already had a mother. But his mother was loyal to his father. And he hated his father.
He was so confused. He looked at Shinra, fishing. He took a step back from Blindsight, and then he ran. He ran past Shinra this time, running down along the stream. Eventually he'd probably get to a lake or an ocean by following the stream. But it didn't bother him right now. He just wanted to get away. He was too confused.
He just wanted to give up.

As she munched on the ichtyoid, Shinra noticed Kei wake up. She lifted her head and grinned, but he didn't seem to notice her, other than to avoid her. Her smile faded. What was he doing? "Kei?" she called. Where was he going? She turned to Blindsight for an answer. "Should we go after him?" Her head tilted one way, expressing her question. She didn't want to lose a new friend, but she didn't want to hurt him by chasing after him, whatever his past may be.
Pensively, Shinra took a nibble at the trout. The taste of the water animal seemed to help her think. Yet, Blindsight's divine judgement seemed a much better idea to lean on than her own. After all, Blindsight had probably gone through things like this before.

Her heart nearly fell to pieces at him running from her. She stood up nose and ears alert with a look of sorrow in her eyes. She wasn’t expecting him to run, but at the same time wasn’t surprised. She walked a few steps to stand next to Shinra. She listened to Shinra call on him and ask if they should follow. A strange rage came over her, as if he was his mother and that he was stolen from her. She gave a yowl in the air that sounded like a wail of pain. She bolted after Furui’s scent as fast as her thick legs could carry her. She wailed in what seemed to be pain with each few steps she took.
” Furui! FURUI!!!!!” she wailed at the top of her lungs. She didn’t stop even with her body going weary. She didn’t even notice she had left him behind, but she only wanted to protect Furui.

Shinra pulled her head back, frightened of Blindsight. What was she doing? This wasn't the calm, nice wolf that she had met. But then again, she didn't know her long, either. But then she started running after Kei, and called him Furui...
"Huh? Who's Furui?" she asked, getting up and sprinting after the old fae. Well, chase after him it was. What kind of relationship did Blindsight have with Kei--er, Furui... anyway? Shinra could understand that she was motherly and protective and all, but this might have been a little overkill. But for some strange reason, she believed that Blindsight knew what was best and followed her without question. But then, as they ran, she noticed Blindsight passing the young one... What was she doing? "Blindsight!" she called, "Kei is right here!" She on Kei's flank now, and knew she had caught his ear if not his eye. Would he turn away? This chase was becoming tedious.

She charged past him into a large bush that was coated with thorns. Her eyes and face was ablaze as she tore at the plant and anything that lived in it. She suddenly yelped as a bear nipped at her side with a snarl. Her own teeth tore into the nose of the bear and was lifted off the ground with the enemy standing on its hind legs. She was thrown from it and it almost wanted to attack again, but for some reason the fangs were exposed on her neck were that of bears , making it turn away . Her whole body was racking with weakness and small pains in her left flank. She limply staggered and gave hoarse cries to Furui and Shinra. ”Shinra, Furui……………bears and human traps this……way………hide…………” She went limp but was still well aware of her surroundings for coming bears or hunters. She didn’t want to lay there while Shinra and Furui were still running deeper into the bramble part of the area. She tried with what was left in her to get up, but was too weak. She needed to get a strand of her beads and fangs to the young ones to at least keep bears and foxes from them.

Furui heard them call for him, but he didn't want to go. And then he heard Blindsights's warning. He stopped, looked back, one paw up, ready to keep running. His ears were facing all different directions, trying to listen to what Blindsight was saying and what was happening further into the forest. He didn't want to leave. But he did want to leave. But... He ran back towards Blindsight, through the brambles. "Blind one..." She was stumbling, but not stumbling fast enough. He looked behind her. The bear that had attacked her seemed slightly confused; it was walked only slowly after her. But then it saw him and it roared. It ran towards him, and he dodged out of the way. "Blind-" He dodged the bear's claws. "-Sight! Get back into the brambles, they're -" He ran back towards her as the bear roared again. "- they're safer than here!" I can't take down a full-grown bear on my own!! No wolf can! He thought. Why was he doing this? Saving Blindsight, that is.
Because she was pack. Or at least, she felt like pack. Like family. It was an automatic reaction. She was pack.
The bear was too large, too strong. He wasn't sure if Blindsight had escaped yet because he was dodging the swipes the bear was taking at him.
Suddenly, another wolf was in the clearing. They ran towards the bear, jumping for it's throat. The bear roared again when the wolf's teeth dug into it's skin. Realising that the wolf would most likely need help, Furui ran towards the bear too. He ran around it, confusing it. "SHINRA! We could use some HELP!!" He shouted out, hoping Shinra was near. He also hoped that Blindsight didn't try to help. He didn't know who this wolf was, but they had helped save him and Blindsight. At least, he hoped they were safe.

((OMG who is the mysterious wolfie? :33 ))
All of a sudden, there was a thicket of thorny brambles and a gigantic bear in front of them. Blindsight was hurt--a fact that sent Shinra into agressive mode. She barely knew the wolf, but she was like family to her. Like a pack... she thought absentmindedly.
Reality came back at her as the roar of the bear shocked her, but it was too late to dodge the railroad spike claws coming at her. Stars blew up in her eyes before she knew it, pain shooting across her face. Her mind was reeling. What's going on? Where is Kei and Blindsight? The questions merely passed through her mind, an answer never coming.
And then, a distant voice calling her name. It sounded like Kei. Shinra gathered her strength. She couldn't just black out now, when her pack needed her. Her pack...
Struggling, Shinra pulled herself to her feet and took in the bleary surroundings. Nothing had changed, really. But where was everyone? Noise drew her towards the clearing where she saw Kei and the bear battling. There was another wolf there... a stranger. Both excited to meet this newcomer and fearful for Kei, Shinra charged towards the bear.
Hor far was the water? She didn't know, but summoned whatever she could near her. Suddenly, mist formed and the sky seemed to darken, if just a little bit. The friction in her paws shot up her legs and stored in her fur, charging everything for her attack. When she felt she was close enough, Shinra jumped and pushed against the bear, giving it a light shock. Most likely it went into the two wolves intertwined with it. This was a warning. As she fell back from it, she snarled at the furry beast, baring her fangs. It was either fight or die for the creature, now.
