The sky was covered by rainclouds and rain was pouring down. A pure white wolf ran through the downpour, oblivious to the cold. The water fell onto her pure coat and fell right off again as she ran through the trees. Eventually she came upon a cave, and she ran into it.
A young woman now stood at the entrance of the cave. She was wearing a cape, with a hood, the hood draped over her white hair. She looked up delicately, into the darkness of the cave. She stepped forward, looking around.
"I know you're here." Her voice was light, and she sounded worried.
"As I would expect." A large, white wolf stepped carefully out of the darkness. "Hello, Kiu. I have not seen you in awhile. I am surprised you remembered me."
"I have a good memory."
"So why is it that you have come here?"
"You should know already." She pulled her hood down and shook out her wet hair.
The large white wolf sat down. "I do. I just prefer not to answer questions that are not really questions."
"...The moon. It has...turned dark." She went to move closer, but then sat down instead.
"I have noticed."
Kiu nodded. Of course he had. She reached out to him, but he growled at her. "What is it?" She asked.
"You must not worry."
"I wasn't. But I am now. What is it?" And then she saw it; on his white fur...red. Red bloodstains. "What happened?" She asked, standing up and moving closer. He backed away from her, growling.
"The Akume have come back; the moon is turning dark. I am dying."
"Can't you heal yourself?!"
"This is no normal wound!!" He snarled at her. "I cannot heal it." He snarled at her some more, showing his sharp teeth. But then he calmed down, and looked at her cautiously.
"Wait...you said something about Akume." She tilted her head. "Isn't that a wolf you told me about, when I met you?"
"Yes...the wolf who discovered that you could choose; Light or Dark." The Ancient Wolf sighed, and sat down. "He has started to gather wolves, and convince them to vow their lives to darkness."
"...Is that why the moon is darkening?"
"Yes. If they gather too many wolves, the moon will disappear and the days will become non-existent. We will be stuck in an eternal time between the time of sun and moon; we will be trapped in darkness. We cannot let the balance be toppled. We cannot let the darkness consume us all."
Kiu nodded. She shook her hair out again and was then a pure white wolf, and turned to the cave entrance.
"Wait, Kiu...One more thing."
"...What is it?"
"If you ever meet a wolf named Furui...watch him for me. Watch him and be sure that he does not follow Akume." Kiu could hear his voice drifting away into the darkness; he was walking into the cave. "Watch him for me, Kiu."
Kiu nodded again, even though he could no longer see her. She sighed, and walked back into the rain.
She ran.
She had come for answers in such a short visit, and she had gotten some. Although none of them were the answers to the questions she came for.
