Suki didn't know what to say, so she kept silent. Then she turned around again and trudged on. She wasn't sure if she felt sorry for him, or if she just didn't care. She decided on neither.
"By the way..." She said quietly, still walking and looking forward. "My name's Suki."

He nodded lightly. "saku" he said lowly. It seemed to be geetting colder now.Every step away it got colder. He looked at her and began to walk on behind her.

It was getting colder for her too. She gasped- there was something up ahead. What was it? She didn't know, but she wanted to find out. She hurried her steps forward.
She couldn't believe her eyes as she hurried forward. It was even colder, and she felt slightly dizzy, but what she saw looked so real.
"Kusa?!"
The shape up ahead moved. She was sure she could see green, his eyes, those eyes she remembered.
"Kusa!!" She ran, ran as fast as she could, towards him, towards her brother. Then she stopped in the spot he had been a moment ago. She couldn't see him anywhere. "Kusa...?" She whispered. She took a step back, unsure. She looked around. She couldn't see anything. It was so cold, her head was spinning
And everything went black as she collapsed.

When she began running to something that he didn't see he knew something was terribly wrong. He began to run in the direction that she had gone. Eventually he had gotten to the spot where she was. She'd collapsed. He licked her face in attempt to wake her from her sleep-like state.

She rolled in the snow, but did not wake. Her eyes were slightly open, though only the white was visible. She twitched.
This is what was going on in her mind.
Suki opened her eyes, looking around. She was in a sparkly meadow. Over at the other end of the meadow stood Kusa. They were surrounded by trees.
"Suki..." Kusa whispered. She could hear him as though he was whispering in her ear. "Why did you leave?"
She felt tears in her eyes. "I didn't want to...you agreed that we should!"
Kusa shook his head. "It was too soon. You know that."
She nodded. "I know, I know now. Come back then!!"
Kusa shook his head. "Too late. It's too late now."
She ran towards him, but he just ran further into the trees that surrounded the meadow. She ran after him. She could see him still, and she stopped again.
"Come back..."
"It's too late..."
"Where's Mizu?"
"Not here. Not anywhere." His voice was low. It was scaring her.
"Kusa...where's Mizu...? Where are you, Kusa?" He had disappeared.
"Mizu's gone."
She almost choked. "But your here..."
"I'm not here." Kusa said. "I'm gone too."
She shook her head, disbelieving.

Saku nudged her with his nose. "wake up"he said in her ear. It was eagger and a rushing voice as if he would loose her forever. "wake" he commanded once more "please"he begged nudging her harder.

"Wake up."
Suki looked around, in her dream-state.
"But I'm not asleep!" She called back.
"Wake."
Who is that? She though to herself. She ran out of the trees and back into the meadow, to find that it was no longer there, only darkness, darkness that went on forever. And she was standing in the middle of that darkness.
"Please."
"I don't know how!" She sobbed.

Nudging a bit more he pleaded the same words he had said before. Everyword like a bitter-sweet melody. He didn't know what to do. He'd been in a situation much like this before watching all his brothers and sisters die off miserably. How horrible it felt.was it happening again?

She felt someone nudging her. She turned around, no one was there. She ran. She ran as fast as she could. Into the darkness, out of the darkness, she didn't know which was which anymore. She sobbed as she went. She wouldn't be able to escape. It kept going on, and on, and on... She stopped running, and collapsed just like she had before.
She looked up. She could see something. It looked...fluffy. Like...fur. And it was only inches above her. She raised her head, and poked it. Her eyes widended, and she saw white around her.
She had woke up.
She tried to get to her feet, but she couldn't. It was amazingly cold down there. She looked up at the wolf, the one that she had been with, the one that woke her up.
"Thank you." She said in a low voice. She felt to weak to be able to get up.

Saku closed his eyes and sighed deeply. He thought for sure that it would be like so long ago when he was only a pup. He couldn't bare to relive such pain. "never... do that again"he said lookiogn at her with his blue green orbs.

She nodded, and managed to scramble to her feet. "Let's go." She said quietly, weakly.
She walked back the way she came, and slowly her head cleared. Then she made it out of the valley, where there was less snow. She collapsed again, but this time only because she was tired. She looked for the wolf that had helped her.

He could tell now how tired she was. They hadn't gone very far but in her mind he was sure she had traveled a great distance on her own. He laid down next to her his ears pen straight pricked perfectly to hear anything and everything that made noise. His eyes wide open to catch even the slightest movements.

For now they would rest until she was ready to move on they would probably find an enclosed space later on to rest more in. He didn't want to leave her now in fear taht she would go off on her own and collapse.
