For what seemed like forever she sat there, staring at the fish that passed by, some speeding away as they recognized her large shape from below the water. Sure, she blended into the bleached boulder, but anyone looking at her from above the wet stuff would know that she wasn't just as strange rock formation. She was a wolf, nearly pure as snow.
Bored with the fish-watching, Shinra sat up to scratch at a spot behind her foreleg. The winter had passed and the spring was here, yet it was brisk, so her pelt was still in the process of a heavy shedding. Annoyed, she stood and shook out her fur, trying to release any leftover strands that might itch if caught in the wrong place. She didn't want to take the chance of dipping into the water to wash it off--it just might turn out worse. Looking into her reflection in the water, Shinra examined the rest of her pelt. Hideous. A small growl emitted from her black lips and she whipped her head around, scorning the sight she didn't want to face.
Why doesn't it just all fall off at one time? she asked herself, Mitra was like that--is it because I have so much static in my fur? She kept on like that as she pawed the muddy bank, muttering to herself in her head. She tuned out everything else. She stopped listening to the sound of the water, which is why she had come in the first place. She ignored the jumping small fries escaping the bigger fish. The sound of wind blowing in the leaves slipped past her ears. All she really kept her focus on was a small pebble in between her claws that she kept trying to pick up, but couldn't seem to. It frustrated her, but she kept on trying, determined to get it right.

Blindsight was walking calmly in the direction of the stream. Her long tail pulled along as the rest of her silken coat did. She softly sighed at the sound and smell of spring. “I’ll have to find an assistant soon.” She could smell the fish in the bank and that of another creature. A young wolf with a strong sense of determination to do something, but what it was, Blindsight had no idea. She followed the smell and sound of the wolf. She could feel the mud on her paws now, then the cool water run past her elbows. She started to slow at the wind blowing her fur, sending water rolling off her long coat. She walked out of the stream and stood calmly with her front paws kneaded close together. “What seems to be troubling you young one?” she stated calmly. She curled her wet tail around her front paws as she settled herself into a sitting position. She appeared to staring blankly at the one before her.

In the midst of her feverent ponderings, Shinra heard the voice of another, and it startled her. Her head shot up in the direction of the older wolf, not bothering to study her like she usually did with most strangers. Instead, on a bizarre impulse, she replied cordially.
"Oh, just the shedding blues... you know..." Maybe she wouldn't know. Maybe this wolf didn't have confused fur like she did that constantly itched in all the worst places, especially behind her foreleg...
She paused to scratch at the area behind her leg, going farther back with her claws towards the back leg, but once she could scratch no further, she trotted to the closest tree and rubbed against it, finally relieving the itch. Stupid ingrown hairs...

She snickered lightly and stood up. She shook lose some of the water in her fur and walked over to the young wolf. She lifted one of her large paws and scratched long, slow strokes through the itchy wolf’s coat. She pulled out massive clumps of fur with each stroke. She padded over to the stream and was able to remove the static undercoat fur from her paw. She walked back over and repeated her actions.
” I know a far better way to get rid of this static fur issue. I use to do it when I was your age.”
She couldn’t stand seeing wolves in discomfort, even if they wished to tare her limb from limb. She kept on with cleaning the undercoat out until she felt a small spark strike her paw. She pulled her paw away and backed up some. Her fur stood slightly on end as she looked confused at the young wolf.
” Are you one of the gifted?”
She wanted to proceed with thinning out her coat, but didn’t wish to be shocked again.

Though the itch was relieved, the fact that she looked hideous did not waver. Baggy clumps of fur was still stuck to her hide and it was embarrassing to be around anyone who could see this. But the fae, with a gentle voice, helped her with the shedding process--it felt kind of nice, but was sort of awkward.
It was now that she decided to study the old fae, as she was mature--her dark pelt was shot with silver at all tips, yet she wondered if that was just the way she had been born... Her eyes were of two different colors and stared blankly at nothing.
Blind...
At least she wouldn't have to worry about looking gross.
But then, without her knowing, the fae backed off and asked a strange question--a question she recognized. Must have been shocked or something. She didn't think it might have been the amount of static in her fur? Either way, she knew what she was, and there was no point in hiding it.
"...Yes." she replied simply, looking down at her paws. Though she knew the wolf was blind and couldn't see this act of embarassment, it was a sort of nervous habit of hers. But then again, how did a lonely blind wolf find her way through thet forest? [/blockquote]

She calmed down some at hearing that and slowly proceeded to get the undercoat cleaned. She looked at the young wolf in the face with a gentle appearance on her body and face.
“Well then it’s all a better reason to get this undercoat cleaned up.” She cheered.
She slowed her cleaning of the coat as to not build up a charge in the young wolf’s coat. She slowly realized on her way from cleaning her paw at the stream that she didn’t give the young one her name. Once she had returned and cleared that side of her body, she weakly stated.
”I’m Blindsight, may I have your name young one?”
She carefully found a way to start cleaning the other side of young one’s coat without causing stress on either of them.

The wolfess began helping her again with her coat, and she didn't have to think hard about her name. "I'm Shinra. Nice to meet you, Blindsight." Just from her name, Shinra could reveal much about her. She was either born blind or had been blind since a young age. The reason she was able to be alone and navigate her way blind was because she had learned to use all of her other four senses to make up for lost sight. Or she could know this place very well...
"Do you live here?" Shinra asked, curious as she observed the blind one. She saw the strokes her paws made and wondered how she could do that to herself--it must have been difficult, but maybe not with all that long, silky fur. But Blindsight didn't have the powers she had. And even if she did control magic, it just might not have been lightning magic. The static field that was ever present on earth made her fur this way, as well as humidity that came with the spring and monsoon season.

She listened to Shinra state her polite introduction, but she could sense curiosity the young one still had. “That’s such a pretty name Shinra; the name suits you.” She smiled. She did one last run through the undercoat and found that was all she could do. She cleaned her paw and came back with a gentle look on her face. “There, that should do it. If any spots still itch, just let me know.” She settled herself down close to the mud of the stream. Her gaze was still on Shinra as the all too common question. She gave a small sigh and let her eyes dull. “No, I don’t live anywhere really. I just found a cavern not far from the stream for now. I don’t know what I’ll do when summer comes……………” Her ears drooped some as she set her head on her paws. The wind made them twitch as the sound of a swallow was carried with it. ”maybe this one can help me find a welcoming pack.” She pondered on this idea as she listened for the Swallow to get closer to where they were.

Furui stumbled out of some bushes, his coat dirty and gathering leaves and twigs. He saw the stream that he had heard from the trees, and quickly ran to it. As he lapped up the water, he saw something out of the corner of his eye. He quickly lifted his head up to look at the other wolves. They stood about four metres away, close enough to recognise - that was if he knew them. He didn't know them. He wondered if they knew his father. Bah. His father. Furui was no longer a stupid, young pup. Some might agree that he was a stupid, full-grown wolf. Furui himself knew that he was no longer stupid. What he had done...he had done nothing. Nothing at all. And yet, he got banished. He had been running around for the past few weeks, trying to avoid most wolves. And now he came across these faes. It was good that they didn't know him.

Color ran into Shinra's face as the fae complimented on her name. She had never really thought of it... well, there was really no one she had met that ever thought of it anyway. Or anyone at all. The company of this blind wolfess was a breath of fresh air after such a long period of time alone.
But her coat looked so much nicer now! She looked at it and saw the dark spots prominent. No shaggy winter clumps making it dirty and ugly. And dotted as it was, she didn't look like your regular white wolf--she was a speckled now. Her tail swished from side to side content.
"Ah, well, I'm just about as lonely as you are. I haven't found any pack scents around here. Maybe the occasional wolf, but the melting winter snows have made them old." Maybe she could stay with this wolf, and together they could find a pack to niche into. "There might be a pack around here--we just might be in their territory, too.." She looked away from the old wolf towards the stream.
Something caught her eye, and she stepped closer to the water to examine it further. A wolf, an adolescent with dark fur, not far from them. It had caught sight of them as well. She sniffed the air but found no scent. Curious as a cat, Shinra wagged her tail and perked her ears, welcoming the newcomer.
"Hey!" she barked, "Come on over! Don't be shy!" Her speckled white flag waving in the air, all her hope poured into the stranger introducing itself.

Blindsight sat up, almost startled by Shinra’s excited bark. She slowly got up on her thick legs and turned to face Shinra. She sniffed the air and focused her ears at the newcomer that seemed close to Shinra’s age. She walked forward and softened her face. She stood next to Shinra and looked to her with blank eyes.
”Do you know what is coming dear?” she asked calmly. Her gaze shifted back to where the sound was coming from across the river. She started to have fear well in her chest as her ears twitched with nervousness.

Shinra didn't understand what the fae meant, especially in such a grave voice. She tilted her head, looking towards Blindsight. "What do you mean? I think it's a wolf... I think. I haven't caught a scent or anything, so I don't know if it's a male or female..." Maybe she was asking for a description--but she was blind, so how would that help her? She might know this strange wolf, and the uneasiness in her voice made her a little jumpy as well.
Surely the stranger wolf on the other side of the river couldn't be that bad... she looked back across the water. She noticed its pelt--dirty with mud and twigs and leaves. Maybe Blindsight was right. Maybe she posessed some clairvoyance or intuition that told her to keep away from this dark and dirty pelted wolf. Sure, it looked like the poor thing had been through hell and back, but was that any way to judge anyone? The old fae couldn't exactly judge by appearances...

She looked to where Shinra with what seemed to be a smirk, her fear seeping away. She padded forward until her forepaws were in the muddy bank. “You have much to learn dear. Now watch what I do.” She relaxed her body and closed her eyes. She kept her ears perked as she inhaled slowly and deeply. All the sounds and smells of the stream filled her, giving her better sight then what most wolves in the forest knew of. She took a s strong sniff and could now smell the young wolf across the stream. It was male stained with mud and tree matter. She opened her eyes and looked to where Shinra was. She kindly smiled with her words, but hurried with concern. ”It’s a young male not much older then you. He’s filthy, weak, and needs help.” She rushed. She padded her forelegs into the cool stream before turning back to face Shinra. ”Will you assist me please?”

Furui saw that the old wolf planned to come closer. He backed one step away, wondering whether he should make a run for it before they could get across the stream. What's the harm in meeting some wolves, hm? He shook his head at himself. He didn't know what he should do, whether they were a danger or not. They don't know your father... Anyway, you can run fast. He sighed, and sat on his haunches. He was actually surprised at how excited he was. He did want to meet these wolves. Maybe it was because, after having so little contact with anyone, he just wanted to talk to another wolf...that wasn't himself. He had gotten into a bad habit of talking to himself, as though there were another wolf with him. It sometimes seemed like that, too - the other him had different opinions than himself. He watched the two faes with his sparkling black orbs, now wondering if the old one could cross the stream.

Weak? she thought, head tilted. How could this fae know so much without her eyes? Shinra knew she herself would be helpless, but then again Blindsight had lived a long time without them. Shinra didn't know how to treat the sick--her family had always been as healthy as could be. But whatever Blindsight did, Shinra was sure to follow. "Of course!" she said excitedly, then splashed through the water to meet the poor thing on the other side.
Way ahead of Blindsight, Shinra bounced along happily and skidded to a halt not but inches away from the young one. Her golden eyes sparkled in glee. "Hello, little one! What's your name? Mine's Shinra!" She paused for a moment to think about whether or not she should allow Blindsight to introduce herself. A quick glance towards the silky haired said she might as well. " And that's Blindsight." She couldn't think of anything else to say, but waited expectantly on the young one's reply.
((I'm sort of using the reference to Furui's age in the fact that he was one year old when banished, so Shinra sees him as a pup still. But she loves pups. Even the older, bratty ones. xD))

(Well, if she knew Furui, she wouldn't even like him. And he is almost full-grown...but yes, almost still a pup. Though he doesn't think so xD)
Furui watched the fae quickly cross the stream, and suddenly she was right in his face. He leaned back slightly, weirded-out. "Hello, little one! What's your name? Mine's Shinra!" Little one? He thought. I am not little... It would do no good to offend these faes, Furui. Oh, shut up. He just watched her strangely while she introuduced herself and the old one. As he looked over at Blindsight, he figured that she must be blind. What a strange name to have. Would she have renamed herself, is it some type of title? He realised that he should say something. "Hello. I'm...Kei." He used the first name that came to him. He wasn't sure where he had heard it before. It quite possibly meant 'punishment'. Or 'thorn'. Heh. Thorn. He liked that. Why not act? That would bring no harm, to him nor these faes. He nodded politely to the old one, and then to Shinra. "It's quite nice to meet you." It was so easy to put fake emotions into his voice. Suddenly, he couldn't see anything. He couldn't feel his own body, either. He felt a different body. He smelt many things, for this nose was quite good, and he could hear many things, too. The body that was not his felt like it was in water. "Oh." As he said this, suddenly, he was back in his own body. He looked at Shinra. Only a second had past. Nothing had changed. He smiled at her, not because he was actually happy to meet them. He had found what his power was, and now he knew how he was to use it. He could get into other wolf's minds. If he could do this...what would be stopping him from controlling another wolf? Now that he thought about it, he didn't know how he had gotten there in the first place. He was sure that if he listened while he was there, he would've been able to hear the Blind one's thoughts. He looked over at the Blind one, and was sure that she had not noticed his presence at all.
(Eep, it went too quickly . Trying to keep up with Furui's train of thought is very hard...)

((Lolz Furui is a brat xD))
Kei? Kei it was. "Hello, Kei! Nice to meet you, too!" So he had a voice, that was good. He seemed a little hesitant, but that may be because he was hurt or scared. She wondered what a young wolf like him would be doing out in the wilderness, especially at such a tender age? So she decided to ask him. "What are you doing out here? Where are your parents?" She didn't expect him to start crying and tell her a sobstory about how there was a blizzard and he was separated from his pack and blah blah blah or even go ballistic and say he hated his family and ran away.
Shinra tilted her head to the other side, then glanced back at Blindsight. Could she take any longer? Slowpoke... She grinned at the old one, forgetting she couldn't see her and then remembered. It was hard to communicate to someone who couldn't see your teasing expressions.

Blindsight let out a laugh like that of an energetic pup. She calmly padded forward when her body felt a sudden sensation run through her. She shivered and almost released a whine. She hid the pain from her face and padded onto the dry ground next to the younger ones. She allowed the water to just roll off her fur with the wind. She leaned toward the unknown pup and took a deep whiff of the muddy coat. She pulled back in deep concern. Her ears even folded back at the disbelief of how ill cared this pup was. She looked over to Shinra and barked her concern to her. ”Shinra, could you please hunt down something for the poor dear? There should be a rabbit’s nest on this side of the stream not far from here.” She looked back to Kai with deep care and attempted to clean the clumps of mud out of his fur with her mouth and paws. When she had pulled a massive clump of shedding fur and mud, she spit it out and cleaned her face in the stream. She looked to the pup and licked his head gently. She pulled back and spoke calmly. ”what happened to you Kai? Or would you like to state your real name and emotions, gifted one?” she employed softly. She could strongly smell the lie he was holding inside him. Her age didn’t just hold common knowledge of the forest, but the smells and sounds of lies. ”there’s no reason to lie to me dear. I’ve seen all wolves that have violated our rules. I don’t take anything against you unless you attack me.” she assured him. She went back to cleaning his coat like a caring mother and her child.

Furui leant away from the old one. "What is it you say?" He said, worry crossing his face. If she was guessing, she was good at guessing. He wasn't going to tell her everything. But he couldn't be bothered acting anymore, even though he had only done it for a minute. "Could you stop that?" He growled at the old one as she cleaned him, pulling away all his molting fur. He closed his eyes and bowed his head, growling softly as he did so. He could see into her thoughts without having to leave his own body, and he could tell that she knew he was lying. But she didn't know why. "If you expect me to tell you everything..." She didn't, though. She just wanted him to stop lying. Why did she care? Why did he care?
He opened his eyes and looked at Shinra, a strange smile on his face. Calmly he stated, "My parents are far from here, protecting my brothers and sisters from myself. Trying to figure out what they should do. My parents made me go away. My mother..." He couldn't speak of his father for he hated him too much, and it was just as difficult to speak of Suki, his mother, although not for the same reasons. He wanted to know if his mother still loved him, because he still loved her. She was his mother. He looked back at Blindsight. "You'll be able to find out for yourself who I am, Blind one." He looked at them both, backing away. He was deciding, right now, whether he should run or not. Run, run, run, run He couldn't. He was frozen as he stared into the blind eyes of the old fae.

She calmly backed off when he and asked her to. She didn’t want an upset pup on her paws. She could hear his worry, even in his low growl. She decided to sit calmly looking to Furui, her whole body relaxed and caring. She listened to him talk to her, but drag to a stop. She had a feeling he was using his gift to read her thoughts. She listened to him talk with Shinra and telling the truth of what was going on with his family. Her heart tugged deeply at her own memories, but her parents were protecting her from the other wolves. She showed her own pain of memory drift to her face when she caught his words of leaving. She listened carefully for his paws to start thundering the ground, but he stopped in his tracks. He didn’t even seem to turn around. She could hear his breathing facing toward her. She stood up slowly and walked over to Furui some and stopped, her eyes in their own kind of pain. ”I know your pains young one. You miss your mother deeply. I don’t want you to leave us. I want to help you in what ever ways I can.” Her words were soft and slightly choked on her emotions. She was trying to resist nuzzling him to calm him and herself, but stayed her place before him.
