The Ancient Wolf was pacing around his den. Okay, so, he was nervous. Very nervous. Suki, the wolf who has his pups, was bringing those pups here, so the Ancient Wolf could see them. Although...from what he had heard, the pups weren't pups anymore. They were already 2 seasons old, and that meant that they would be quite big! He shook his head, and stopped his pacing for a moment, but then resumed it as he thought of something else. What if Suki hadn't bore him the heir he wanted? What then? He was getting old, and although he wouldn't die anytime soon, something just might happen, and he needed to train an heir. Something was going to happen, but he didn't know what. He had premonitions sometimes, yes, but they were inexact and didn't tell him what was happening! In the premonitions, all he saw were humans. That didn't make any sense, because he should've been seeing wolves. Unless somehow he was telling the humans' future, well, then... He stopped pacing as he heard a sound outside. He quickly looked around, then sat down near the den entrance.
Suki walked into the den, the den she remembered from ages ago. It wasn't exactly a good memory, but it was an important one. Following her were her eight pups, yes, eight pups. She sat against the cave wall, smiling at them as they walked into the den, one by one.
The Ancient Wolf watched the pups walk in. One...Two...Three...he counted in his head. Four...Five...Six...Seven...Eight...No more? He was surprised at himself. That was a lot of pups.
Suki looked over and saw the Ancient Wolf. She didn't know what to do, so she just smiled at him. Her personality had slightly changed since the last time she saw him- the affect of having and raising eight pups. "Urm, my little ones-" Okay, so they weren't so little anymore, they were about half the size of her - "This is your father." "Ancient Wolf-" What was his name? "-these are your pups. Shiro," She indicated with her nose each one as she named them. The pups were obdiently sitting down, facing the Ancient wolf. "Pon, Iiro, Manala, Lang, Puchi, Jin, and Furui." She noticed his eyes lingered on Furui, the dark grey - which looked more like silver - pup. So she had been right. "So, um, yeah." She said. She didn't know what was supposed to happen now.
"Where is Atamagaokashii?" The Ancient Wolf asked. That was all he needed to know right now. Furui, the grey-silver pup, was the most likely to be his heir. He had looked completely different from all his brothers and sisters. His father looked just like his father, though, so he may be wrong. He could feel power coming from the pup, so he may be right. However, he was quite confused. Other pups - like Pon - had magic, too. They may have not known it, but they did. Had he born a litter with more than one magic pup?
Suki looked outside the den. "Atama said she was coming. I don't know where she is at the moment."

Pon stumbled lightly into the den when they were instructed to and when introduced to her father she smiled widely exposing her briliant white teeth. She wasn't sure to speak or not so she kept her mouth shut for a while simply just watching everyone.
Several minutes later the pound of thick paws on the ground could be heard from outside the den. AtamagaoKashii burst into the den but then strolled casually like she had been walking the entire time. "I'm here" she said looking around and seeing all the pups and Suki..."i'm not late am i?"she asked saracastically with a smile on her face and her creepy glowing blue and green eyes watching everyone quickly scanning the room. She was pleased with the fact everyone was here.

Suki smiled at the wolf which had become her close friend. "No, not at all."
The Ancient Wolf looked at Atamagaokashii for a moment, then looked around at the pups. "Atama, come with me. And you three..no, four pups, I'm sure your names are Pon, Furui, Shiro, Jin, come with me too."
Furui looked stared at his father for a moment, and then stood up. He knew the process; Suki had told them basically what would happen. They would come in, be introduced, then the Ancient Wolf would probably decide whom his heir was. Then why had he chosen Furui's little sisters? Okay, so Pon was as big as him, but Jin?! Maybe he just wanted to know something about them, or something else. Whatever it was, it didn't really matter. The Ancient Wolf had addressed him, and out of Pon, Jin and himself, he was the only male. It was likely he was to be his heir. However, Shiro did get his name called, too...
Jin was staring at the floor. She was so much smaller than her sisters and brothers-about two thirds of their height. When she heard her name, her ears perked up, and she stared at the Ancient Wolf. No way... She thought. She must've misheard. She looked over at her mother, Suki. Suki smiled, and indicated with a slight tilt of her head the Ancient Wolf. So she hadn't misheard? What did her father want, then? She stood up slowly, keeping her head low.

Atamagaokashii noded to the ancient one and began to step closer to him waiting for him to proceed onto where they would go.She looked around at the pups he had picked on. She smiled lightly she had a feeling of why these ones were picked. She stepped to teh side of the Acient wolf and stood tall.
Pon Smiled widely when she heard her name called by her father. Uncontrolably her tail started wagging. Simple things such as her name being called made her very appy. She began to move towards the other pups getting near to her father.

The Ancient Wolf turned and walked further into the den, not waiting to see if the pups followed him. He smirked and said to Atamagaokashii out of the corner of his mouth, "You know why they were chosen, don't you? You have learnt well. I'm guessing you can even hear thoughts well now?" In such a short time, too. He thought to himself.
Furui quickly followed the Ancient Wolf, trying to be the closest to him. He looked over at Shiro, Pon and Jin. Jin hadn't started moving, and was still staring at the floor. He looked at Pon, whom he saw was happy. He poked his tongue out at her. He slowed down so he was still the first behind the Ancient Wolf, but far enough away so that Pon could hear him say, "Ha. What are you so happy about? You can't be his heir, your a girl." He quickly caught up with the Ancient Wolf again, although not because he had gotten far behind, because that when he stood next to Pon, he could see just how muscular she was. So, she didn't really act like a girl, no. But she still couldn't be a heir.
Jin closed her eyes, facing the floor. Okay, so her choices were: 1. Run away. 2. Stay here. 3...Follow the Ancient Wolf. Which was the most likely she was going to choose? Well, she was still deciding between 1 and 2... Iiro, who was sat behind her, gave her a little nudge, and whispered to her. "Go on. It's okay, he only chose you because you were special. And Atama's there. She'll look after you." Jin looked back at him, then started walking forward. She speeded up to catch up to Shiro. Iiro was really kind and optimistic. Sometimes too optimistic. She hoped that wasn't the case this time.

Atamagaokashii sniled to him when she heard his voice."yes all these pups that you picked were special i can see that." she said looking at him and when she heard the rest of his sentence that included her powers being stronger she nodded. "In such a short time too." she added on as if she would have been finishing his sentence she had read thoughts of such a great wolf wonderful. But of course their minds were closer together than the rest of pups when wondering so alone out her The ancient wolf was probably the first wolf she saw that stopped and talked to her.
Pon watched her brother trying to trail to the front as if he was the greatest thing in the world. If She wasn't in the presence of her father she would have spit on him and knocked him over. He hadn't done much to make her angry yet so she felt that doing taht to him would be unnecessart. But when he came closer to her and began talking to Her smile fell and she could feel the edges of her maw creeping up in a vicious snarl but she relaced it and talked throungh clenched teeth. "How DARE you" she said in an angry whisper. Why did it really matter much if i was a girl? she questioned to herself in her mind. She wanted to take her giant paws and smack Furui over the head with them. Just because he knew he was proabbly the best choice didn't mean he could rub it in others faces. Pon would drop it for now but when they got home the fight was on for sure.
Shiro looked over his shoulder at his Sister. He smiled lightly."i see you finally wanted to join us."he said walking forward with his long legs. He didn't look like much of a pup at al he looked more like and adult than the rest of teh pups. Him and his Sister Manala were the biggest of all the pups here which was weird to think that those two are acctually the same age as teh rest of the pups.
Manala Sat back next to Iro wigling back and forth. She was restless and wondered who would be the heir. It obviously wasn't goign to be any of the ones that were left behind but she wondered how would be the heir still.

As his brother's and sister's were lined up infront of the Ancient Wolf, Lang found himself destracted by the walls of the den. So when the other started to follow the Ancient Wolf, Lang sat there for a few moments, before hearing Furui teasing Pon about not being able to be the heir. Growling under his breath, Lang trotted along behind his siblings, most likely looking like a starved beast trailing the pack of wolves to get a meal, or a mistreated puppy who didn't want to be beaten. Neither was true, but the examples worked.
Trailing over to Suki, Lang lifted his head, yellow orbs brightening as he walked beside his mother. "Mother," he whispered, "Do we have to be here?" he questioned, not really interested in meeting the wolf that helped sire him. [/blockquote]

Suki looked down at Lang. She sighed. "Yes. But don't worry...we shouldn't be here for long." She could tell Lang wasn't very interested in the Ancient Wolf and the whole heir thing.
The Ancient Wolf looked back at the wolves following him. He almost stopped to scold Furui, because he had heard what he said. I will not make that pup my heir, whatever happens. He stared ahead. He might not have a choice. No, he did have a choice. Shiro, Pon and Jin were there. It didn't matter that Pon and Jin where female. They could still carry on the Ancient blood.
Iiro looked at Manala. "Manala, calm down." He looked over at Suki. "Mother? Can we go run around outside? Being here isn't too interesting."
Suki looked now at Iiro. "Okay. Lang, you can go too, if you wish."
Puchi looked up at the mention of outside. He wagged his tail and walked over to his mum. She nodded at him. "Yes Puchi, you can go outside too." Puchi's tail wagged faster, and he ran outside after Iiro. Poor Puchi couldn't speak, and he always had to hope that someone would be able to read his body language.

When Atamagaokashii heard the ancient ones thoughts she could tell which pup he was refering to. The one with the most powers but yet he was the meanest of them all. She tilted her head slightly to the side wondering who would be the heir if Furui wasn't. But she kept moving and didn't stop to question the wolf.
Manala heard her mother tell her to calm down so she did. "But mum how am i supose to calm down i'm to excited i must know what will happen!"she said looking at her mother.

Growling under his breath, Lang watched as some of his siblings disappeared into the darkness that was the Ancient Wolf's den. But then mentioning of play turned the growl into a yip, as he turned and bounded out of the den with his remaining siblings. Who cared what was going on within the cave. He couldn't remember anything about the wolf that was said to be his father, so he didn't care.

Iiro smiled at Lang, and pounced at him. He tugged on his brother's ear, wanting to play.
Suki smiled down at Manala. "You'll know soon enough, dear. Now why don't you run out and play?"
The Ancient Wolf got to his destination. The star cave. He walked slowly into another section of the cave, which was as dark as the rest of the cave. He looked around. With his good eyesight, he could see the pups and Atamagaokashii. He sat down, and closed his eyes. When he opened them again, the walls of the cave were glowing, as if the they were covered in stars. He smiled down at the pups. "This is the star cave. The glowing is caused by a natural element in the cave rock. This natural element is the source of all magic power. Wolves with raw magical power can harness the magic within this element, but only to a certain extent. It all depends on what magic powers you were born with. Some wolves, like Atamagaokashii here, are born with powers that strengthen the mind. If you haven't noticed, Atamagaokashii knows a lot more than she should." He was talking, of course, about the fact that she knew what other wolves were thinking. "Others are born with powers over the seasons, and others are born with powers over the elements. It usually is random, the gene that makes us magical, although if your family has had magical history, you will surely be magical too. Like you four. You all have magic powers."
Furui was listening intently the whole time the Ancient Wolf was speaking. Power... He thought. He looked around at the walls. Ha! Power... He stopped thinking then, knowing that Atama would most likely hear his thoughts. He let a stray, lying thought creep in. Not that it's mine. I must be very careful... She wasn't easy to decieve, but she wasn't likely to say anything if she suspected him.
The Ancient Wolf's eyes flickered over to Furui. That pup was dangerous. "The powers you have," He continued. "Cannot be used without this element. However, you must not use the power with a non-refined element source! The element in these cave walls is non-refined, because it is still in it's natural state. Once it is extracted, it becomes refined, because it leaves the place from which it gathers it's power from. The process that involves extracting also refines the element. The refined elements have much less power, but are much less dangerous. When you use a non-refined element, something bad WILL happen, no matter how great your power may be." The last words he spoke were harsh. He wanted to make sure the pups understood that. "Now..." He said. "I must speak with Atamagaokashii." He indicated to Atamagaokashii, and walked away from the pups.
Jin looked over at her siblings. "Pon?" She said quietly. "What are you thinking?" Jin knew what she was thinking. How could she have ended up with magic? She didn't want it! I guess I never have to actually use it, though...

Manala looked at her mother and smiled"yes mum i will go play then" she said running out of the cave out into the open with her siblings.
Atamagaokashii followed walking quickly but not too fast. She wasn't focused on the pups at the moment well she was but she wasn't really paying much attention. Until she heard the Ancient wolf mention powers then she perked her ears and listened to the pups thoughts carefully... Furui was rambliung about power and then he was saying something about not mine which was odd he seemed somewhat happy about it and then acted as though he didn't care for it... She shrugged it off and went with the ancient wolf.
Pon looked at her sister after starring in awe at the brigfht cave of lights. "yes?"she said to Jin... But then jin asked something about what she was thinking. "oh well i'm thinking that powers might be useful to us and that it might be good to have them"sh said looking at her sister."what are you thinkin?" she asked looking at Jin.

Furui continued to stare at the cave walls after the Ancient Wolf and Atama had walked off. He should try something, right now. That would be cool! He knew the Ancient Wolf had said something about the danger...and something bad would happen...But since when did that ever stop Furui? He grinned, excited. He had to think this through, though... He saw another hallway, a very small hallway, more like a tunnel. It was a small tunnel; too small for the Atama to fit through, let alone the large Ancient Wolf. But he could see that that tunnel led to another part of the star cave. He looked around quickly, then crept over to the tunnel.
Jin looked over at her brother. She was avoiding Pon's question. She didn't want to think about any of this right now. "Furui? Where are you going?" She said quietly.
Furui cringed, and then relaxed. It was just Jin. "Oh...just exploring." Jin looked at him for a moment, then turned back to Pon. Furui sighed, relieved, then walked quickly through the tunnel into another part of the star cave.
The Ancient Wolf had not noticed any of this. Which was unlike him; he was usually very observant. He wasn't observant at that moment because he was anxious. That was unlike him, too. "Atamagaokashi," He said in a quiet, stern voice. "Those pups..." He sighed, and closed his eyes.
Furui was staring around himself in wonder. What should he do with this magic? Hmm... He couldn't think of much. Everything seemed boring. He started to concentrate on his Magic. He was still trying to think up what he should do.
The Ancient Wolf continued. "I can feel Pon's excitement, Jin's nervousness, Shiro's interest, and...Furui. He just...We must make sure that pup does not do anything idiotic." As he said this, he glanced over at the pups. He had just turned back to Atamagaokashi when he realised that Furui wasn't there.
The crystals in the cave dimmed.
Then Furui remembered a story Suki had told them when they were smaller. It was about her life. In this particular part, she told them of how she had found out that her mother had been captured by humans. Humans. Humans... ...humans...
Suddenly, the crystals glowed to life. They glowed too brightly, blinding the wolves in the star caves. Jin yelped loudly.
The Ancient Wolf tried to move, but along with the brightness, there was pain. He cowered to the ground.
Suki, who was half in the den, half out, watching as her pup's played, yelped. She rolled over, and over, and over.
Iiro, who was just about to pounce on Manala, cowered to the ground to.
Every wolf on the land felt the pain, and were cowering just like the one's in the den.
Every wolf except one.
Furui opened his eyes as he felt the power drain from him. He didn't realise he had closed them. He had been blinded by the crystals, but suddenly they stopped. And he couldn't see anything.
The pain dissappeared from all the wolves.
The Ancient Wolf was shaken by what had just happened, but he was shaking because he was angry. "FURUI, WHAT DID YOU DO?!"

"atamagaokashi nodded lightly. It would be hard keeping Furui from doing somthing dumb he was a pup like taht.
But then this overwhelming pain came along. It was an odd pain like one she had never felt before. when the ahine stoped she could stand agian. "ouch" she said looking aound as if nothing happened.
"what happened?"question Pon standing to her feet aswell.
Manala looked around and had a facial expression as if she would have cried.
Atamagaokashii looked for Furui that pup was notyhing but trouble.

Furui cringed at the sound of his father's voice. What had he done? All he could tell was that the crystals had stopped glowing. And it was dark, very dark.
Jin slowly lifted her head up from the ground. "Pon?" She whispered into the darkness. "Did I go blind? Where are you? Do you know what happened?"
The Ancient Wolf blinked, his eyes ajusting to the darkness. "Furui." He growled. "Come here."
"Where are you?" Furui's voice was supposed to sound challenging, but it sounded how he felt - scared. What had he done?

Pon heard her sister and looked around she couldn't see much either "well if your blind then i am too" she said sniffing the air trying to locate her sister again. She crept over to Jin making sure not to trip over anything.
Atamagaokashii looked terrifying her eyes glowing out in the darkness they looked furious.

The Ancient Wolf growled.
Furui decided to try and find him. He bumped into the cave wall a few times before finding the small tunnel. He stumbled his way over to where he thought the Ancient Wolf was, tripping over a few rocks on the way. Suddenly, he bumped into a large wolf.
The Ancient Wolf, who's eyes were used to this darkness, just not in this part of the den, saw Furui bump into Atamagaokashii and fall over. "SUKI!" He called loudly, his voice echoing through the den.
Suki perked her ears up. She had been at the entrance of the den. She and the pups that weren't with the Ancient Wolf were shaken badly. She looked at the pups, then quickly turned and bolted into the den. It was dark, very dark, but she relied on her sense of smell and her motherly instincts - which somehow could sense where her pups were. She turned left, then left again. She halted just as she entered a cave where she could hear breathing. "Hello?" She said quietly.
"Over here, Suki." The Ancient Wolf replied in a low menacing voice. He watched Suki slowly walked in his direction, stopping a bit away. "What happened?" Suki asked quietly. "Furui here decided he would experiment with a bit of magic." Furui shivered. The Ancient Wolf looked over at the other pups. "Pon, Shiro, Jin? Will you all please go and wait with your brothers and sisters?"
Jin was quickly on her feet, wondering what was going on. "Something happened, Pon." She whispered. "Furui did something." She started walking, slipping on the floor a few times. She found her way to the hallway, then followed the wall out. She finally got to the entrance of the den, where she saw her siblings. "Iiro!" She ran over to her favourite brother. "Iiro, do you know what happened? Something happened. Furui used his magic...he...he...He did something!"
Iiro narrowed his eyes. "That was Furui?" Jin nodded. Iiro grimaced.

Atamagaokashii's glowing eyes looked down at the pup who had bumbed into her. Her eyes flashed with a hint of anger for a second but then subsided and she looked away from the pup who had ran into her. She was aware of which pup it was and was wondering what was goign through his mind right now.
When the Ancient wold told the pups to leave Pon walked away rather quickly...Pon would have protested at any normal time but she could tell this time was not as normal as the rest. Plus the fact that her father was already very angry made her want to leave even more.
She moved quickly out of the dark cave stumbling abit but still managing not to fall. She finally reached light. She saw her other brothers and sister. Several of the pups who had been outside looked shocked and confused still shaken by what had happened.
Pon was somewhat frightened herself but knowing that Furui did all this frightened her and when Jin confirmed that a second time while talking to Iiro Pon had a shudder flash through her body.
Manala looked at her sister shaking with fear and instantly wondered why she was still cowering after the entire thing. WEll she didn't know what was goign on in Pon's head so she shrugged it off and walked over to Jin and Iiro. She sat down next to them and listened closely.
Shiro was the last of the pups to walk out of the cave. He looked especially menacing. Angry even. He was angry at his brother for being such a fool. He could tell from the beginning that Furui would be a problem but he didn't imagine anything like this. But he had a feeling that this wouldn't be the last of their worries. He sighed and walked a little farther away from his brothers and sisters still listenign to them gossip about what went on inside. He layed down on the ground and put his head on his paws just listening to the buzz of the other wolves.

The Ancient Wolf turned away from Furui to look at Suki and Atamagaokashi. "Suki, did you feel what happened before?" Suki understood what he was talking about and nodded. "Yes. So did the pups." The Ancient Wolf grimaced. "I think other wolves did, too. That was Furui." Suki tilted her head. "What?" "Furui was being a fool and he used his magic." Suki looked at Furui, startled. "He did that!?" The Ancient Wolf nodded. "Atamagaokashi, as the pups' guardian, you get say in what we do with Furui now."
Furui looked at the floor. His father was right; he was an idiot. But he hadn't done any harm! He just...what did he do? The Ancient Wolf had said something about pain. He wanted to run, but he knew that wasn't a choice.
The Ancient Wolf continued. "You get a say, too, Suki, being his mother."
Suki looked at the Ancient Wolf, then down at Furui. "Furui..." Suki said. Furui looked up at her, and whimpered at the dissappointment in her voice. Suki shook her head, then looked up at the Ancient Wolf. "Whatever you decide is best." She was dissappointed in her son.
The Ancient Wolf looked at Atamagaokashi. Banishment, Atamagaokashi?

Atamagaokashii nodded to Suki as if to reassure her that Furui did this all. The Atamagaokashii's eyes flicked to Furui staring at him intently.
When the Ancient wolf sent her his thaught a small smirk crept upon her face. That would teach him a lesson. But, How could everyone be safe with a pup like THAT running around. she thought it over and then looked at The Ancient wolf and nodded "yes it sounds somewhat reasonable."
AtamagaoKashii looked Over at Suki as if to get her opion on this even though she knew that Suki wasn't able to read minds like she was.
